April 8th will mark the 6th annual fire safety series offered through the Garrett Loomis Foundation. This years event will host Ret. Chief Rick Lasky. Chief Lasky, a 34 year veteran of the fire service, and revieved "Innavator of the Year" award for his part in developing the "Saving Our Own" program. He is the author advisor to Fire Engineering Magazine and the autor of the best selling book "Pride and ownership- A Firefighters Love of the Job" which will be the presentation from 2-4pm. The main presentation form 9-1 is Sweating the Small Stuff: Keeping Your People Safe and Alive. It is often the small stuff which leads to firefighter injuries or worse yet Death.
This Seminar will be in two parts. The Early seesion will be emphasized at the main topic where certificates will be given.
A catered lunch for a small fee will be hosted in the New Cafeteria of JCC, Ticketes will be available at registration the morning of the Seminar.
A short break for lunch will be followed by a second session where attendance is recommended and Chief Lasky will discuss the Love of the Job which has been attended by many in the fire Service, and highly recommended. There is no registration and no certificates will be issued for this session, and walk-ins are allowed for anyone wishing to attend.
